This basic Meta Tag Generator is designed for UK bands who are having problems promoting their band's website! In general, meta tags are fairly low on the "What's needed on your website for promotion" scale. But, if you want to improve your band's chances of being found on the Internet, include them. Meta tags are not a substitute for content. Textual content and links are far more important than meta tags. However, the TITLE tag is important!

1. DOCTYPE automatically generated e.g:

2. HTML and HEAD automatically generated e.g:

3. TITLE use 40 characters including spaces, all lowercase. Put band's name first. e.g:
<title>YourBandName TownName FavoriteVenue</title>

4. DESCRIPTION a sentence of 150 characters including spaces. Put band's name first. e.g:
<meta name="description" content="YourBandName are an indie rock band from TownName, on the first saturday of each month we play at the LocalVenue.">

5. KEYWORDS a bit of an anomaly! Only include the most frequently used keywords contained within TITLE & DESCRIPTION, use lowercase, separate with commas. e.g:
<meta name="keywords" content="YourBandName, TownName, FavoriteVenue, AnotherBandName">

6. CONTENT-TYPE automatically generated, in this case ISO-8859-1 e.g:
<meta http-equiv="content-type" content="text/html; charset=ISO-8859-1">

7. LANGUAGE automatically generated, in this case ENGLISH e.g:
<meta name="language" content="english">

8. AUTHOR who wrote the webpage? e.g:
<meta name="author" content="Unsigned Band Promotion">
