Fugazirum are a 6 piece Blues, Alternative, Hip Hop band. We have a unique vibe, with Influences from John Lee Hooker, Muddy Waters, B.B King, Koko Taylor, Wu Tang Clan, Cypress hill, Roots Manuva, Lauren hill, NWA, Dr John, Terra Thirma, Task Force, Rodney P, Mos Def.

In the year 1998 Fugazirum was formed as a Hip Hop outfit Members Huss, Mosman and Filla (with guest appearances from Kope aka Drunken master "Breakin Bread" Resident Host). The crew putting out 3 record releases. The Blue E.P, Red Single and Black and Suspicious E.P. This was the Twist, a track from the Black E.P, called Dealer Stealers brought a lot of press to the band, a unique twist of Blues and Hip Hop ft "Finger smith", who had done previous guitar licks on Rum Releases.
This track gracing the air waves of 1xtra, BBC Radio Leeds up and coming Talent show and other world wide internet radio, foreign stations and local radio shows. After receiving further Record Label interest, the new Fugazirum was Born. Huss, Mosman and Fingers Smith then created the Red Album, which is available in shops now (This album was nominated for Scratch Wire Turntablism Rap album of the year 2005 on the European Platform, and it Won, beating people like Kano who album that year was nominated for a M.O.B.O)! After the album was done a full live line up was put together to take the sound to the streets, the band has been gigging for the last year and a half, playing acoustically or with a full band line up. We find with our diversity of sound, There isn't a venue to big or to small, we support Rock acts, Indie Bands, Hip Hop acts, Acoustic Singer Song Writers and various different other styles.
Huss: "I prefer to remain elusive... I've been producing for 15 years; in that time I've had tunes out on Sony, among others, and recently the three Fugazirum 12 inches. I've always wanted to create stuff that sounds original and distinctive, which is what Fugazirum's all about..."
Rev. Benjamin J. Smith: "I started playing guitar 16 years ago, when I was nine. I've played in lots of bands in lots of styles, but I've always been in to the blues... I'd done a few tunes with Huss before appearing on his Hip Hop, we decided to try and put the two together, the result of which was 'Dealers Stealers', and it seemed to go down well..."
Mos: "I started off in drum & bass about 17 years old, mcing at venues like pleasure rooms at Labyrinth in Tottenham, Pinnacle & faces, and a year resident at total eclipse... done various other clubs in Cardiff for beat freaks and Cakemix Cartel supporting such acts as Mark B and Blade and the Freestylers; now I'm doing hip-hop shows in Camden, Cambridge Rawganics, the Fez bar, Peterborough throwdown at the Met Lounge Bar and the
Cardiff Toocan club, where I supported yungun."

The Horn - St Albans is Hertfordshire's premiere live music venue with shows 7 nights a week, and it's Fugazirum's favourite venue. The Horn is strictly over 18s and ID may be required! Very easy parking as The Horn is situated next to the St Albans Thameslink Station Ridgemont Road car park, on the Junction of Victoria Street and Alma Road - see you there.
