2005 saw the now permanent line-up of Alex, Jim, Steve, Tom and Baz doing what matters - gigging the best venues in Bristol, writing together and apart on progressively novel tunes and taking important steps forward in recording their unique sound. Recent interest from indie labels, a single release and plans for the Ashton Court Festival mean 2006 could be the year Electric Jets really take off.
Electric Jets are blues-based alt guitars mixed with classic indie, some even describing the sound of dance-tinged rock n roll. Combining catchy guitar hooks over outlandish drum parts and a groove that would make Bootsy Collins proud, Electric Jets have come up with a sound and vision entirely theirs. Drawing influences ranging from The Stone Roses and Guns n Roses to Blur and Nirvana, they are five very different individuals who have created a sound that's fresh, exciting and immediately inspiring to musicians and music lovers everywhere.
